  I'm a journaler, art therapy student, artist, baby bookbinder, and recovering marketing professional celebrating creativity in community and a slow, analog approach to life. To that end, mental health and AI can and does have a place in mental health counseling! Just not with me. AI is intensifying our rapidly-approaching heat-death of the world as we know it. Most seem to be okay with that, and I don't blame them; AI offers just enough convenience to an individual's overwhelming, never-ending to-do list. My journals, books, and zines don't care about convenience. "I'm a simple woman; I make, and I know things."

  Human stories need human storytellers. Hey Joe Media is built by a formerly incarcerated, award-winning journalist who helps nonprofits trying to change the criminal justice system for the better by helping them communicate their mission and their work. This work is most effective when people who are currently or formerly incarcerated or otherwise directly impacted by the criminal justice system are leading the effort through their lived experiences. AI has no such experience.
